Petition To Reinstate Morristown's 'Ticket Taker Guy' Gains Traction Online
Fans of Eric "Fluffy" Glover aren't going down without a fight.

MORRISTOWN, NJ— His fans view him as a Morristown institution. His former employer said his work habits were "inconsistent" with their policies. One things for sure: the people of Morristown have strong opinions when it comes to Eric "Fluffy" Glover, also known as the Ticket Taker Guy.
And his fans are trying to be loud. After Glover's firing from AMC Headquarters 10 after 20 years of service, over 600 people have signed a Change.org petition, titled simply: "Give Eric Glover his job back!"
The petition was started by Sam Reul, a Morristown native, but signers are from all over. Many say they live in Morris County, but some are from as far as California and South Dakota. (Patch has reached out to Reul for comment.)

Reul wrote in the petition:
People from all over Morris County come to this theater just to see him, and he has been fired, the management told him that he is no longer allowed to do his gig, no longer allowed to take pictures with people, and he's not allowed to hug people even when they ask. He was fired for asking a group of teenagers to come down because they were being a little bit too rowdy.
Eric is a staple in the community, everybody loves him and he would not hurt a fly. Our community loves him so much that we threw him a 50th birthday party at a local Club. If you do not know Eric you should know that he is getting older and may not be able to find a new job, since AMC has taken over this theater Eric has continually been taken advantage of.
Many signers had one sentiment: reinstate Glover, or they would boycott.

Patch has reached out to AMC for a comment on the call for a boycott, but has not yet heard back. They have stood by their decision, however, previously telling Patch, "We recognize Eric’s popularity within the Morristown community, and while this decision may not be popular, it is warranted and appropriate."
This is not the first time the community has rallied around Glover.
When Glover found himself homeless earlier this year after his hours were cut and a family illness drained his resources, Morristown rallied around him. More than $65,000 was raised to help Glover get back on his feet, and a petition was started asking AMC increase his hours.
