Police, ICE Still Hunting NJ Fatal Hit-And-Run Suspect

It's been more than two weeks since Wilson Morocho-Necta killed a pedestrian with his car and fled on foot, according to officials.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — For more than two weeks now, law enforcement has been searching for a man accused of killing somebody with his car and fleeing on foot.

Authorities are hunting for Wilson ā€œAdrianā€ Morocho-Necta, 33, an Ecuadorian national who was living in Morristown.

On March 20, around 7 a.m., police were called to Sussex Avenue in Morristown on a report that a pedestrian was pinned under a truck, officials said.

Authorities said the driver, Necta, jumped out of the truck and fled on foot following the incident.

The pedestrian, Justo Pilco-Tenesaca, 68, of Morristown, was taken to Morristown Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Now, Necta is charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and endangering an injured victim by leaving the scene.

Days after the incident, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that Necta was an undocumented immigrant.

Federal officials said Necta was deported to Mexico in 2019 and illegally re-entered the U.S. at an unknown place and time.
