Rehab Center Opened For Coronavirus Treatment In Morristown

MORRISTOWN, NJ - As part of their strategy to fight the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, pandemic, Atlantic Health Systems have activated their Mt. Kemble Avenue facility, officials said.

"As always, Atlantic Health System’s top priority is the safety of our patients, communities and health care professionals," Spokesperson Karen Zatorski said. "As part of our phased approach in planning for the Covid-19 public health emergency, we are transferring select adult patients to our Morristown Medical Center facility at 95 Mt. Kemble Avenue, Morristown."

Zatorksi noted that these fully operational rooms will serve as an extension of the medical-surgical units, and will be equipped, provisioned and staffed like similar floors at Morristown Medical Center.

The building previously served as Atlantic Health System’s comprehensive rehabilitation hospital for decades and was closed for inpatient services in August 2019.

Atlantic Health System has a combined 1,836 licensed beds, with 735 at Morristown Medical Center. These beds include those used for a number of specialized medical needs, including cardiac, neuroscience, oncology, pediatrics and more. We have been working to increase capacity at each of our sites in order to have the ability to best care for our patients.
