SUV Crashes On I-80, Woman Thrown Nearly Into Woods: Cops

​A 56-year-old woman was thrown from an SUV after it overturned Tuesday on a N.J. highway and landed near the woods, State Police said.

A 56-year-old woman was thrown from an SUV after it overturned Tuesday on a N.J. highway and landed near the woods, State Police said.

The woman, whose name hasn't yet been released, landed in a grass area between the I-80 shoulder in Morris County, near Mount Olive and the woods at 3:19 am., police said.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Morristown Medical Center after a medical helicopter was requested.

The accident happened on the eastbound side by mile-marker 23.7, and investigation is ongoing.

The SUV apparently veered to the right and rolled over before coming to a stop near where the woman was found, police said.
