Tee Off for CASA Raises Funds for Children in Foster Care
Golf tournament raises funds to change the course of a foster child's future

Cedar Knolls, NJ – CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties held Tee Off for CASA, a golf tournament to benefit children in foster care, at the Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club that commenced with a vibrant morning tee time at the picturesque Meadow Course. One hundred and forty golfers of all levels converged, driven by a common cause – to raise unrestricted funds for vulnerable children in foster care.
Adam Cossman, Board President, addressed the participants in the early morning light, sharing heartfelt words about the challenges faced by these children. His emotional appeal resonated deeply, setting the stage for a day of camaraderie, purpose, and community support.
The day was filled with friendly competition. After all, this was a tournament. Autosport Acura of Denville gave the golfers an opportunity to win an Acura Integra with a Hole-in-One swing. However, no one was lucky enough to drive this car home. Other contests and prize winners included Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive, as well as a chance to Beat the Pro. Prizes were also given to the Top 3 finishers.

The event culminated with lunch, during which Dr. Lisa Barsky Firkser, CASA’s Executive Director, shared the stories behind some of the children this event would support and how the donations could change the course of a child’s future.
The money raised will help CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties fulfill its mission of being a strong voice for the best interests of vulnerable children who have been removed from their homes or are under court supervision due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. The inaugural tournament not only raised funds but also showcased the power of community, demonstrating that collective effort can create tangible change in the lives of children who need champions.
