Watch Morristown Council Debate Over Liquor License Renewals

Sona Thirteen, Dark Horse given permission to continue selling alcohol until June 2015, with conditions.

The Morristown Council renewed the liquor licenses of the Dark Horse Lounge and Sona Thirteen bars this week, but not without conditions, or some contentious exchanges.

The council approved the renewals, nearly two months after letting the licenses lapse, on the condition bouncers and security guards took online tests and the establishment’s owners placed an off-duty police officer outside the Dark Horse on DeHart Street from midnight to 2 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The video below, courtesy morristowngreen.com, shows council members going back and forth with the attorneys for the businesses as well as each other.
