Whippany River Flooding Monday Morning
Breaking: The National Weather Service says there is flood action at the Whippany River Monday morning.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Following a strong weekend storm, Whippany River in Morristown is showing flood action, the National Weather Service said.
The water in the river was measured at 5.11 feet at 8:15 Monday morning, making it a flood action, the NWS said. The river measured 1.9 feet the day before the storm began.
A flood action, which is when the river reaches five feet of water, is the lowest flood warning for this site. It is considered a minor flood once the water reaches six feet. The river is measured behind the Walmart shopping center on Cedar Knolls Ave.

Towns across the state saw flooding and winds as high as 50 miles per hour as a powerful nor'easter lashed the state. Over 9,000 homes are currently without power in Morris County as a result, JCP&L said.
