On Your Mark, Get Set, March! St. Pat's Parade Starter Announced

Ed Broderick has been involved with the parade committee for nearly three decades.

In less than three weeks one of Morris County’s biggest annual events will weave its way through Morristown, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee has announced who will kick off the event.

Ed Broderick has been named the official starter of the event, set to kick off at noon on March 14 on South Street in Morristown.

Broderick is a longtime resident of Morris County and was the original finance chair of the parade when it moved to Morristown in 1990, according to a statement from the parade committee.

Broderick and his wife of 58 years, Faith, have four children, nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He’s a 25-year veteran of the United States Air Force and retired as a full Colonel from the Judge Advocate Generals office. Broderick graduated Notre Dame University and has a law degree from the same school.

Broderick currently works with the national law firm Wilson Elser.

Broderick joins Al DeBenedictus, the 2015 St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal as both will be at the Grand Marshal’s reception at Rod’s Ranch House on March 6. Tickets for the event are available at paradeday.com.

The Morris County St. Patrick’s Day Parade often brings more than 70,000 attendees to Morristown on parade day. The event is free to the public.
