• A Scout's Eagle Project Brings New Life — and a Community Together — at Beechwood's ARK Habitat (tapinto.net) — Mountainside families just helped transform Beechwood Elementary’s ARK habitat into a more inviting outdoor classroom, thanks to Life Scout Lawrence Worth’s ambitious Eagle project. Scouts and volunteers from local Troop and Pack 177 installed new fencing, paths, signage stumps and birdhouses, turning the space into a richer hands-on learning spot for native plants, wildlife and pollinators.
   

• Union County Commissioners Announce 2026 Union County SHERO Honorees (ucnj.org) — Several Mountainside residents — including Sherry Heidary, Kristina Quigley‑Leonardelli, and Michaela Whelan Spinola — have been named 2026 Union County SHERO Award honorees, recognizing their impact across the county. The county commissioners highlighted these women’s leadership and service, and residents can learn more about the SHERO program or past honorees through Union County’s Office on Women.
   

• New Press Box Opens at Governor Livingston High School, Uniting Two Communities Around Student Athletes (tapinto.net) — Mountainside and Berkeley Heights students will now play under the guidance of a brand-new press box at Governor Livingston High School, unveiled Monday after a joint district effort. Funded through Berkeley Heights capital reserves, the upgraded booth adds better sound and livestream capabilities and sets the stage for future athletic complex improvements, including potential field lights.
