1 Dead, 2 Hurt After Newark Shooting; No Arrests, Authorities Say

A 30-year-old man died in a triple shooting in Newark. Two other victims were wounded, and are in stable condition, authorities said.

NEWARK, NJ — A 30-year-old man died in a triple shooting that took place in Newark on Monday. Two other victims were wounded, and are in stable condition, authorities said.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, three men were shot on the 300-block of 10th Street. All three were taken to University Hospital, where one victim, Frankie Fields, 30, of Newark, was pronounced dead at 1:54 p.m. on Monday.

No arrests have been made as of Tuesday, prosecutors said.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the shooting.
