N.J. Man Wanted For Killing 3 — 2 Of Them Children — in Custody After Standoff: Prosecutor
Three people — two children — were killed, and three others were injured in a stabbing inside an N.J. home, according to authorities.
UPDATE: A man wanted in the stabbing deaths of three people — two of them children — was in custody early Monday.
Three others were injured in the stabbings inside a New Jersey home, according to authorities.
Newark police had 26-year-old Jeremy Arrington in custody on Sunday night, authorities say, after he had barricaded himself inside a Newark apartment. NJ.com said the incident drew a large police response that included the U.S. Marshals Service.

Arrington was taken into custody at about 9 p.m., according to the report, after he had locked himself inside a three-story, red brick house in the 200 block of Pomona Avenue at Aldine Street.
Pomona Avenue residents told RLS Media that the man appeared to be "new" to the area as he walked around the neighborhood calm and wearing dreadlocks.

He was considered armed and dangerous. Arrington was described as approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 170 pounds.

The three victims who died have been identified as Aerial Little Whitehurst, female, 8, of Newark; Al-Jahon Whitehurst, male, 11, of Newark; and Syasia McBurroughs, female, 23, of Cedar Knolls, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
The two children were pronounced dead at University Hospital in Newark at 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, and Syasia McBurroughs was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other victims, a 29-year-old female, a 13-year-old male and a 13-year-old female, remain hospitalized in critical but stable condition, according to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly of the Prosecutor's Homicide Unit
The ECPO said the crime does not appear to be a random act, saying it believes the suspect had a relationship with one of the victims.
The crime happened around 3:50 p.m. Saturday after a 911 one call was made, and police then responded.
This incident is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor's Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department. The investigation is active and ongoing at this time.
