3. How one man's 'crazy faith' built a Black cowboy legacy in N.J. (nj.com subscription) — A Hunterdon County horseman regularly trailers his horses into Newark to give city kids hands-on time with animals and a window into Black cowboy culture. Man accused of hiding explosive lab at his suburban N.J. home now facing federal charges (nj.com subscription) — A Denville man accused of running an explosives lab is now also facing federal charges after appearing in Newark federal court this week. Investigators say they found 109 containers of homemade explosives and extensive lab materials at his home, and he could face lengthy prison time and steep fines if convicted on multiple explosives-related counts.

'Prayerful witness' offered for immigrants (umnews.org) — United Methodists from across New Jersey recently gathered outside Newark's Delaney Hall immigration detention center to pray, protest conditions, and support detainees' families with food, gift cards, and information. Speakers near Newark Airport called for the facility's closure and greater accountability after reported overcrowding, poor medical care, and recent deaths, urging people of faith to stand with immigrant neighbors.
