Nurses, Medical Worker Stabbed At Newark Beth Israel Hospital: UPDATE
Three staff members at the hospital were stabbed after a domestic argument between two visitors turned violent, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — Three medical workers at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center were stabbed during a dispute between visitors at the hospital’s pediatric ICU on Friday morning, authorities say.
The incident took place around 6:50 a.m. when a domestic argument between two visitors turned violent, according to hospital administrators.
No patients or family members were injured. The woman who allegedly stabbed the workers was taken into police custody.

The staff members – two nurses and a medical resident – were treated for minor injuries in the hospital’s emergency department, administrators said.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, the hospital workers are reportedly in stable condition. The stabbing suspect – Firdousi A. Abdul-Hakim, 37 – was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.
