A house fire in Newark caused a partial building collapse and spread to two nearby buildings, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — A house fire in Newark caused a partial building collapse and spread to two nearby buildings, before leaving three families without a home late Sunday night, authorities said.
Firefighters responded to a blaze at a three-story residential building at 423 South 6th Street around 10:35 p.m., according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
The fire extended to adjacent addresses at 421 and 425 South 6th Street, with 423 South 6th Street experiencing a partial collapse. The blaze was put under control at 2 a.m.

No injuries have been reported, Newark officials said Monday.
Three families, including 11 adults and three children, were relocated, authorities said.

The Newark Department of Public Safety’s arson unit is investigating the cause and origin of the fire, officials said.
