4 Women Injured In Newark Shooting, Cops Investigating Leads: PD
Newark authorities are investigating a shooting that wounded four women. One victim is in "critical condition," police said.

NEWARK, NJ -- Newark authorities are investigating a shooting that wounded four women on Saturday night. Police said one of the victims is in critical condition.
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said police are "investigating several leads" involving the shooting, which took place shortly after 9:15 p.m. at Bergen Street and Madison Avenue.
Officers responded to a Shot Spotter notification, finding the four wounded victims on scene. Emergency responders transported each victim to University Hospital in Newark for treatment.

One victim is reportedly in critical condition; the other three are in stable condition, police stated Sunday.

At the time of the shooting, the victims were reportedly lighting candles at a memorial for two teens who died in a crash nearby on Friday morning near the same intersection, authorities told NBC New York.
The deceased teens were driving in a vehicle reported stolen out of Elizabeth, prosecutors said Friday.
