Sixty-nine people were arrested in a big, 457-deck heroin, cocaine and gun bust in North Jersey this past week.
Police recovered three handguns, confiscated 457 decks of heroin, 169 vials of cocaine, 137.5 plastic bags of marijuana and 155 pills during a continuing narcotics sweep conducted mostly in Newark, according to Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose.
The operation, devised to address citizen complaints, was conducted between Monday, Sept. 25 and Sunday, Oct. 1 and was aimed at removing guns and drugs from "our streets," Ambrose said.
This week, police confiscated $2,949.36 from drug sales. The narcotics confiscated have a street value of $11,200.00.

On Tuesday, Sept. 26, police arrested Terrence Bradley, 35, of Newark for weapon and CDS possession. Detectives patrolling the 200 block of Bruce Street observed a man conducting a narcotics transaction, police said.
Upon seeing police, he ran into a Bedford Street apartment and out through the back door. He was apprehended, and police recovered a loaded .40-caliber handgun, 20 glassine envelopes of heroin and $217 suspected to be from narcotics sales, police said.

Bradley is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of CDS, burglary, certain persons prohibited from weapon possession and resisting arrest.
On Thursday, Sept. 28, Jah’Lil Banks, also known as Kasib Jones, 23, of Newark, was arrested and charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, conspiracy to commit robbery, contempt of court and CDS possession, police said.
Banks was wanted for a business robbery that occurred on Thursday, May 18. He was arrested after police observed him at Franklin Avenue and Anthony Street where he was in possession of 23 glassine envelopes of heroin, 31 vials of cocaine and $170, suspected to be from narcotics sales, police said.
Also on Sept. 28, police arrested Lamar Samuel, 25, of Irvington, for possession of a handgun and narcotics on South Munn Avenue. Special Enforcement Division (SED) members received a report of a suspicious man with a gun and narcotics on a bicycle in the area, police said.
Detectives observed Samuel, who fit the description of the suspect, and stopped him after he committed a bicycle violation. He was found in possession of a loaded and defaced .45-caliber handgun, 17 glassine envelopes of heroin, 68 Xanax pills and $109 in suspected narcotics sales, police said.
On Sept. 28, police arrested Undra A. Crosby, 33, of Newark for a shooting and for weapon possession. SED detectives observed Crosby in the area of Lyons Avenue and Hobson Street after hearing shots fired. A 30-year old man had been shot. As they approached the intersection, detectives observed a man, later identified as Crosby, running away from the scene, police said.
After a brief foot pursuit, detectives apprehended Crosby, who was in possession of a handgun when arrested.
Included in these arrests are 36 people apprehended for contempt of court on outstanding warrants and others arrested for CDS possession, CDS distribution or wandering to purchase CDS.
