NEWARK, NJ — Need to buy or sell something online in Newark, but worried about safety when meeting a stranger? There are several places in the Brick City that you can breathe easy while you get business done, police say.

The Newark Department of Public Safety recently released a list of seven police precincts where people can meet to complete transactions they began on the internet. Here are some locations that local internet traders might want to keep in mind, police said:

  • 2nd Precinct – 1 Lincoln Avenue
  • 3rd Precinct – 649 Market Street
  • 4th Precinct – 247 Sixteenth Avenue
  • 4th Precinct Substation – 10 Seventeenth Avenue
  • 5th Precinct – 480 Clinton Avenue
  • 6th Precinct – 491 Irvington Avenue
  • 7th Precinct – 159 North 10th Street

“Conduct your internet shopping safely,” authorities advised, offering the following tips:
