Amazon Visits NJ's Largest Food Bank To Share Logistical Expertise

Team from Amazon Discusses Methods to Improve Food Distribution Across New Jersey

HILLSIDE, NJ – The Community FoodBank of New Jersey welcomed Amazon today to take a tour of the 285,000-square-foot warehouse and identify ways to more efficiently distribute food. Amazon leaders, including several from the company’s fulfillment centers in New Jersey, provided their logistical expertise to improve the FoodBank’s ability to reach people in need.

The company also gave a generous financial donation during today’s visit, which will help provide tens of thousands of meals for hungry people across New Jersey. The corporate partnership between the Community FoodBank of New Jersey and Amazon joins the state’s industry leaders in the fight against hunger.

“The union of Amazon and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey is an example of corporate responsibility in action,” said Debra Vizzi, FoodBank President & CEO. “As the Community FoodBank of New Jersey enters the summer, the hungriest season for children, Amazon provides significant financial resources, supply chain and logistical expertise to maximize our efficiency. Amazon is one of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s largest food donors, and we are proud of our partnership to feed our 1.1 million hungry neighbors.”
