ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Mildred Crump was sworn in as Newark 's first African-American councilwoman in the city’s 336-year history on July 1, 1994. A long-time community activist, she has been a consistent advocate for women, children, senior citizens, the disabled, working families, and those in need. In July 2006, she was again sworn in as councilwoman at-large. And she again made history when she was elected as the first female president of the Newark Municipal Council, a post she held until 2010.
ABOUT THE FXB CENTER PEDIATRIC COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD
The FXB Center Pediatric CAB works to raise education, awareness, sensitivity and support for children and mothers affected by HIV/AIDS.
