The Forest Hill Community Association is bringing back its much-anticipated Historic Forest Hill House & Garden Tour on Saturday, June 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Newark’s North Ward. The tour's roster of twelve locations includes a variety of distinctive architectural treasures and includes a house of worship whose roots can be traced back to a late 19th century abolitionist.

A number of homes on the tour have served as locations for motion pictures and commercials and one home was a compound for Newark’s most famous opera singer.

Stroll at your own pace or hop on a free trolley provided by Essex County.

The tour starts at the Ballantine Gates at Lake Street and Ballantine Parkway, where tickets will also be available on the day of the event. Advance ticket holders can check in at FHCA’s table to collect maps and wristbands, which serve as entry passes for this self-guided walking tour.
