Bed Bugs Reportedly Bite Passengers On Newark Airport Flights

​Several passengers flying out of Newark Liberty International Airport have complained about bed bugs crawling on their seats.

Several passengers flying out of Newark Liberty International Airport have complained this past week about bed bugs crawling on their seats. One incident happened during a 15-hour flight – prompting the airline to apologize.

One family onboard a non-stop Air India flight from Newark to Mumbai this past week found "numerous" bite marks all over their 8-month old infant, according to Newsweek, compelling the airline to investigate bed bugs on the Boeing 777 aircraft.

One man even called on India's Minister of Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu, to take action against Air India, according to Newsweek.

Air India flight 144 passenger Pravin Tonsekar tweeted several photos showing bed bugs on the exterior of his family's business class seats. The airline wrote back: "We are sorry to hear this, Mr. Pravin. Sharing the details with our maintenance team for corrective measures in this regard."

The airline also wrote:

But Tonsekar wasn't satisfied.

"More Too late !!! Such a thing should not have happened in the first place. My wife and daughters had to suffer half of the journey sitting in economy seats with broken tables and inoperative TV," he said.
