Big Group Of Teens Brawl At N.J. Mall; 1 Arrested, 1 Hurt: Cops

A large group of teens brawled at a New Jersey mall this week, and one person was hurt while another was arrested, police said.

The large fight broke out inside Newport Centre mall in Jersey City Wednesday afternoon, and a 14-year boy from Carbon Place was busted for pushing and scuffling with a police officer who had responded to the fight, according to nj.com.

The boy, who was not named, was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest in the incident, which occurred at about 4 p.m. Another 14-year-old boy, of Ocean Avenue in Jersey City, suffered a puncture wound to his buttocks, and was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center for the injury and released.

The incident started on the second floor of the mall and ended inside Kohl's, a witness told nj.com. "It was a group of young teens running through the mall into Kohl's that attacked a young teen and the cashier got hurt by them," a man told the publication.

This was the same mall where a parent and a man dressed in an Easter Bunny costume got into a fight in March, a video for which went viral.

Videos posted on Twitter shoed the Easter bunny getting into a brawl with customers who were waiting online to have photos taken. The bunny is seen exchanging punches with a man in a brown shirt, and others, then having to be separated from the crowd as his ears flopped up and down.

The man in the costume, Kassim Charles, and the father, 44-year-old Juan Jimenez-Guerro, were charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct charges. Charles was also arrested on an open warrant for "fare hopping," Jersey City police told NBC 4 New York.
