Bobby Valli to Perform at Hot Rod & Classic Car Show

Newark native Bobby Valli will perform hits like Can’t Take My Eyes off of You, Dawn, Ragdoll and more made famous by his brother Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and other legends at the 2nd Annual Hot Rod & Classic Car Show on Mt. Prospect Avenue in Newark’s historic Forest Hill Neighborhood, Sunday, September 7th from 11:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. Last year’s show was attended by more than 2,000 people from Newark and surrounding communities.
Sponsored by community partners Investors Bank, Wells Fargo and the North Ward Center, the event will stretch from Heller Parkway to Delavan Avenue. Mt. Prospect Partnership has also partnered with the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the event to help raise awareness and financial support for the fight against breast cancer. Admission is free for the general public. The rain date is September 14th.
Over $1100 in cash will be awarded and more than 100 vehicles including muscle cars, hot rods and classics are expected. Other event highlights will include special visits by Lou “Batman” Magnifico with his sidekick Robin and his amazing 1960’s replica Batmobile, NFL great Stephen Baker “The Touchdown Maker”, music provided by the Marty Hoff/Kevin Hagen Big Band orchestra and a DJ, a variety of food and ice cream vendors plus children’s entertainment like face painters, stilt walkers, balloon artists and more.

Registration is $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the show. The street will be closed to vehicular traffic during the event and absolutely no bicycles or skateboards will be allowed in the display area. Staging of the vehicles will start on the day of the event between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Those that register early to secure specific locations must be in their assigned spots by 9:30 a.m. or they may lose those specific locations.
