Body Found In Essex County Lake; Cops Offer $5K Reward For Arrest
Essex County police are offering a reward to catch the person responsible for the death of a man whose body was recovered from a lake.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Police are offering a $5,000 reward to help catch the person responsible for the death of a man whose body was recovered from a lake in Essex County earlier this week.
The Essex County Sheriff’s Office was notified about a deceased body in Weequahic Park in Newark around 11 a.m. on Tuesday. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:06 a.m. Read More: Man's Body Recovered From Lake At Weequahic Park In Newark
“At this time, the victim has not been identified,” authorities said Friday. “The cause and manner of death is pending an autopsy.”

An investigation is ongoing. The Essex County Sheriff’s Crime Stoppers Program is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the man’s death.
Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
