Car Hits Newark Juvenile Near School: Police
A vehicle struck an 8-year-old juvenile near a school in Newark, police say.

NEWARK, NJ — A vehicle struck an 8-year-old juvenile near the BRICK Peshine Academy school in Newark on Thursday, police said.
Newark police responded to the area of Hunterdon Street and Watson Avenue around 3:25 p.m. after receiving a report of a juvenile struck by a car. Emergency responders immediately transported the juvenile to University Hospital for treatment. The youth’s condition is unknown as of Thursday afternoon, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, police said.
