NEWARK, NJ — Newark authorities are seeking the public’s help identifying suspects in connection with the carjacking of a young mother and her infant child last month.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, the July 27 carjacking took place around 6:20 p.m. in the 100 block of Dickerson Street. Police said that two suspects approached the 31-year-old mother and her 11-month-old child, demanding that the hand over the keys to her white, 2007 Nissan wagon.

Both the mother and infant sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the incident and were treated at Rutgers University Medical Center, police said.
