CFBNJ Receives Bank of America Grant To Support Food Access
Funding will help CFBNJ's year-round efforts to help hungry neighbors
The Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ), the state’s largest anti-hunger, anti-poverty organization, announced today that it has received a $100,000 grant from Bank of America.
The grant provides general operating support for CFBNJ’s mission to end food insecurity in the Garden State. Nearly 1 million New Jerseyans are food insecure, including more than 260,000 children. CFBNJ serves 15 of the 21 counties in the state with food distribution and supportive solutions, including job training, SNAP application assistance, nutrition education, and initiatives that provide critical hygiene products.
For decades, Bank of America has served as one of CFBNJ’s most dedicated corporate supporters. In 2010, Bank of America donated $1 million to fund the Volunteer Center at CFBNJ’s Hillside headquarters, where last year alone, volunteers checked in for nearly 34,000 visits. In 2020, Bank of America provided donated $1.6 million for pandemic relief. This past year, 79 volunteers from Bank of America completed a total of 940 volunteer hours. Bank of America is also one of CFBNJ’s Visionary Partners, the highest level of Corporate Impact Partner.

The grant is part of Bank of America's philanthropic giving efforts in local communities. Awardees were selected for their commitment to addressing the needs of individuals and families, including basic needs and workforce development.
