The NCSECS conducted a review and analysis of the legal, regulatory and operational factors impacting services to students with disabilities and found that the programs included in the survey are showing signs of positive change. At least two schools are increasing staffing and many more are providing additional training this summer.
“The public charter school sector is fully committed to ensuring that all Newark students, including students with disabilities, have access to a high-quality, effective education. Continued insight from NCSECS will help ensure educators are trained and fully equipped to teach and support all students, further strengthening programs that serve students with special needs,” said Newark Charter School Fund CEO Mashea Ashton.
