Community FoodBank of New Jersey Receives 125,000Grant From Bayer Fund

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) announced today that it has received a $125,000 grant from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer in the U.S., which will be used to support the organization’s efforts to nourish food insecure children and their families.

“Nearly 200,000 kids across New Jersey are food insecure. This generous grant will provide critical support for CFBNJ’s Child Nutrition programs,” said Elizabeth McCarthy, President & CEO of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. “Thanks to Bayer Fund, we can provide more food and resources through our Summer Food Service Program, Kids Cafes, and Family Pack program.”

CFBNJ feeds kids in need year-round, helping to fill in meal gaps over the weekend, during the summer, and after school, when children lose access to free school meals. Last year alone, the organization provided nearly 1.8 million meals through its Child Nutrition programs.

In 2023, Bayer Fund awarded more than $12.1 million to over 2,300 charitable and nonprofit organizations to help address essential needs in Food and Nutrition, STEM Education and Health & Wellness. Since 2017, nonprofit organizations across the U.S. have received nearly $90 million from Bayer Fund.
