Cops Resuscitate Newark 2-Year-Old Who Drowned In Family Pool
The child, who was found "drowned" in the family pool, wasn't breathing when the call came in, Newark police said.

NEWARK, NJ — A pair of Newark police officers resuscitated a drowned 2-year-old girl on Sunday afternoon, stepping in as if the child “was a member of their own family,” authorities said.
The rescue took place around 4:10 p.m. at a home in the city’s North Ward when police received a call about a child that had drowned in the family pool. The toddler wasn’t breathing when the call came in, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
On arrival, officers Malikul Aziz and Shaquille Johnson immediately began to administer first aid to the child. When the officers cleared her airway, she threw up ingested food and water, authorities said.
