NEWARK, NJ — A power outage closed down a section of Bloomfield Avenue in Newark and affected traffic on Monday, authorities said.

Bloomfield Avenue between Mt. Prospect and Clifton avenues will be closed until midnight, the Newark Department of Public Safety stated.

“The outage is the result of a damaged fiber wire at Bloomfield Avenue which is currently undergoing repair,” police said. “Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes.”
