‘Demonic’ Child Yells For 8 Hours During Flight To NJ (Video)
A child's unruly behavior "tortured" passengers aboard the international flight. But some say that a little empathy may be in order.

NEWARK, NJ — Eight hours can be a long time. Just ask the passengers of a Lufthansa flight from Germany to Newark, who endured a screech-fest from a young child who was apparently allowed to carry on for the entire ride.
A passenger aboard the plane took a video of the flight, which has since been viewed more than 2.1 million times and was originally filmed in August of 2017. The video recently gained new life after several news outlets picked up the story again this week.
“Demonic screams take over the plane,” an ominous caption states at the beginning of the video. And then the screeching begins. (Watch the video below)

Here’s passenger Shane Townley’s description of the eight-hour flight as it was captured on the YouTube video:
“It was torture. The airlines asked the mother to leave the flight with the child before the flight took off. The mother convinced the flight attendant that he would be fine once the plane took off and he could use his iPad. If the mother knew he had a problem or a type of autism, why wouldn't she have a pre-downloaded video or content? Why did she have to wait for the internet or Wifi? Also the airline should have been more responsible in this situation as a plane full of 200 souls was affected for 8 hours of screaming.”
However, some people pointed out that the whole incident may require a little empathy.

A Lufthansa spokesman told DailyMail.com that most passengers on the flight were “quite understanding” and that crew members “worked around-the-clock to deescalate the situation, tend to all passengers and assist the mother.” It wasn’t evident if the child was diagnosed with a medical condition that may have been the source of the incident, the report stated.
The spokesperson said they were unable to comment further because of the “individual’s medical privacy.”
Here’s what a blogger on "Live and Let's Fly" wrote about the video:
“It’s easy to blame the mother for being horrible and failing to control her little brat, but three hundred evil eyes also do not help the situation. Maybe the kid suffered from a disability (that’s my hunch). Maybe his parents spoiled him rotten. Whatever the case, I can’t see any viable solution other than to wait it out. Even if his mother is blameworthy for bringing him onboard in the first place, it’s not like you can just throw them out from 40,000 feet.”
In 2015, a woman claimed that she and her daughter – who is diagnosed with autism - were kicked off a United Airlines flight when she allegedly created a disturbance aboard the plane. In that case, however, the other passengers were reportedly very supportive, rallying behind them and trying to prevent them from being removed, she said.
