Downed Tree Near NJ Transit Station In Newark: Delays, Suspension
A downed tree took out power lines and affected service on the Morris/Essex and Montclair-Boonton lines Friday.

NEWARK, NJ — A downed tree took out power lines near NJ Transit’s Newark Broad Street station on Friday, affecting service on the Morris/Essex and Montclair-Boonton lines, authorities said.
NJ Transit tweeted photos of crews working to clear the downed tree and repair the wires west of the station on Friday afternoon.
“M&E service has resumed with delays and MOBO service is still suspended,” the agency stated.

Shortly after 5 p.m., NJ Transit offered an update:
"After earlier weather-related overhead wire problems near Newark Broad Street, [MOBO] service has resumed with delays of up to 30 minutes. [Morris-Essex] service is subject to 30 minute-delays in both directions."
