‘Driving Home Hope’: Fundraiser In Essex County Will Benefit Homeless
Family Promise of Essex County will host an annual fundraising event in Newark. This year's honoree hails from Short Hills.

Family Promise of Essex County is pleased to announce Driving Home Hope, the nonprofit's premiere fundraising event to benefit Essex County families experiencing, or at risk for, homelessness. The fete takes place on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Avenue A Club located in the historic Ironbound neighborhood of Newark.
Avenue A boasts a distinctive showcase of unique and exclusive vehicles that have been housed in a tastefully renovated, century-old building. Car aficionados and casual enthusiasts alike will marvel at the selection of one-of-a-kind automotive masterpieces on display, while enjoying street food from around the world and live music.

This year’s honoree, Kathy Hay Stine, is a Short Hills resident and a longtime volunteer and Board Member of Family Promise of Essex County. The evening will feature a live auction and various opportunities for attendees to contribute to our local community in meaningful ways. It's an evening where passion for classic cars meets philanthropy, promising a memorable experience for all who attend.

Family Promise of Essex County (FPE) supports families facing the crisis of homelessness with prevention assistance, emergency shelter, permanent housing, and long-term stabilization programs. In 2023, FPE served more than 310 families from Essex County, in one or more programs offered. Nearly 50% of those served annually are children. The proceeds from this event will provide critical funding to help homeless and at-risk families achieve self-sufficiency by providing shelter, social services, and housing assistance through a community-based approach.
