Many Voices, One Newark: Writing from Culture and Context

Newark offers a rich history and cultural tapestry from which lives (and stories) are drawn. Join our writers in an elegant reading and a spirited audience discussion that explores how culture and environment impacts and informs writing.

Featuring Benilde Little, The Itch, Anasa Maat, Kill or Be Killed, Moody Holiday, Black Divorce, Kal Wagenheim, Clemente! The Enduring Legacy, and Marc Curtis Little, Magnificent Redemption, these Newark-influenced authors will read from their works and discuss how their experiences have informed their writing and their world and community view; and what they have learned about community through their writing.

Many Voices, One Newark: Writing from Culture and Context is a Harlem Book Fair-Newark Author Event in cooperation with Newark Public Library, Rutgers University-Newark, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Essex County College Africana Institute. Moderated by Max Rodriguez, Founder, Harlem Book Fair.
