
TV's BRENDA BLACKMON TO HEADLINE PARADE
Brenda Blackmon, award winning co-anchor of MY9 TV's "The" 10 o'clock News, will serve as grand marshal for New Community Corporation's 29th Annual Advocacy Parade and Family Festival on Saturday, September 15th in Newark.

The parade starts at noon at the corner of South Orange and Littleton Avenues in Newark, with the parade route heading east on South Orange Avenue to Jones Street, where it will turn right and end up on 14th Avenue.
A street festival will immediately follow the parade on Hayes Street and Bedford Street, between 14th and 15th Avenues. Featured at the festival will be music by DJ Qua, dance workshops by Ailey Arts in Education, an international food court, vendors, health screenings, a Children's Zone with video game truck, rock climbing, bouncies, pony rides and more.

Blackmon joined the news team at WWOR-TV in 1990 and became an Emmy-award winning reporter and role model for the community. She is today one of the most recognizable and talented journalists in the nation's number one television market.
