Free Dental Care For Children In Newark: ‘Give Kids A Smile’ Event Returns For 2026

A monthlong event that provides free, preventative dental care for uninsured children will return in Newark.

NEWARK, NJ — A monthlong annual event that provides free dental care for uninsured children will return in Newark for February 2026.

The KinderSmile Foundation will host a kickoff for its 19th annual “Give Kids a Smile Event” on Friday, Feb. 6 at three locations in New Jersey:

  • Newark – Boys & Girls Club of Newark, 1 Avon Avenue (call 973-824-0036 for more information)
  • Bloomfield – 10 Broad Street (call 973-744-7003, option 2 for more information)
  • Trenton – 101 North Broad Street, entrance on Hanover Street (call 973-744-7003, option 1 for more information)

Throughout the month of February, uninsured children up to 13-years-old can receive free preventive care appointments, including oral health education, nutritional counseling, dental exams, X-rays, cleanings and fluoride applications.

All children, regardless of insurance status, will be linked to a Dental Home to ensure continuity of care and follow-up services, organizers said.

The event is being held in solidarity with National Children’s Dental Health Month.
