According to the nonprofit, the event will feature live music entertainment by DJ Alvarez, a fresh produce distribution, free costumes for children donated by JerseyCares & Father Gulya, and winter coats donated by Helpsy while supplies last. Additionally, UCC is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat at the festival where free treats will be given out to youth.
In addition, UCC officials and local partners will be present on-site at the event to provide community members with important services and resources.
The nonprofit said it received key support from the City of Newark and Amerigroup for the event.
“The City of Newark is proud to partner with UCC for its Harvest Fest in order to bring the community together this fall season,” Newark Deputy Mayor of Community Engagement Jacqueline Quiles said.
“As an organization founded out of the Great Society in the 1960s, UCC has a long history of providing services to Newark residents,” North Ward Councilman Anibal Ramos Jr. said. “Most recently, UCC has partnered with a number of organizations including my office at initiatives addressing food insecurity and hunger.”
