Hit-And-Run Injures 2 Juveniles In Newark; Cops Release Photo Of Car
The juveniles were pinned against another vehicle when a car reversed while in a parking space, Newark police said.
NEWARK, NJ — A driver recently struck and injured two juveniles in Newark during a hit-and-run collision, authorities announced Thursday.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, the hit-and-run happened around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday. Authorities released the following statement about the incident:
“Police responded to the 100-block of Pacific Street on a call of two juvenile pedestrians struck by a vehicle. The juveniles crossed the street by walking behind the suspect’s vehicle, which reversed while in the parking space. Both victims were pinned against another vehicle. The driver initially exited his vehicle, but then returned to it and fled heading northbound on Pacific Street.”
The victims were transported to University Hospital for treatment and are reportedly in stable condition, authorities said Thursday.

Detectives said the vehicle is a black Dodge pickup truck bearing a fictitious New Jersey license plate: V95KMX (see photos below).

A separate hit-and-run was reported in Newark the previous week. In that incident, adult victim was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle, police said.
