Hundreds Evacuated At Newark Airport After Stubborn Fire

A fire that rekindled after it was extinguished prompted an evacuation of hundreds of people from Newark Liberty Airport early Monday, officials said.

News12 said about 200 people were evacuated from Terminal B as smoke poured from the top of the building.

The fire broke out just after 1 a.m. in a boiler room ceiling in Terminal B, according to NBC 4 New York.

The fire was put out and the terminal reopened, A short time later, however, the fire rekindled and forced a second evacuation, according to the report.
