Lyft Offers Free Rides To Newark Cooling Center During Heat Wave
Lyft is offering New Jersey residents free rides to 12 cooling stations across the state during a heat wave forecast to hit this weekend.
NEWARK, NJ — Lyft is offering New Jersey residents free rides to 12 cooling stations across the state – including one in Newark – to help beat a heat wave forecast to hit this weekend.
In New Jersey, the rideshare service is providing free rides using code “NJCOOL19” for people who need transportation to one of 12 cooling centers, including the H.E.L.P. Center at 224 Sussex Avenue in Newark (see full list below).
Codes are valid for two rides, up to $15 each, from Thursday until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 21. (Learn more about the free ride promotion)

- County Administration Building: 1 Bergen County Plaza Hackensack
- Morgan Village Community Center: Morgan Boulevard and Hunter Street Camden
- Vineland Public Library: 1058 East Landis Ave., Vineland
- St. Lucy's Shelter: 619 Grove Street Jersey City
- Jennye W. Stubblefield Senior Center: 301 Prospect St Trenton
- Howell Branch: 318 Old Tavern Road Howell
- New Brunswick Senior Citizen Resource Center: 81 Huntington St, Southampton Township
- Paterson Free Public Library: 250 Broadway, Paterson
