Man Assaulted With Camera At New Jersey City University Commencement: Cops
Police say a Bayonne man bashed a 60-year-old with a camera after the victim allegedly pushed his mother.

NEWARK, NJ — Police charged a Bayonne man with aggravated assault after he allegedly struck a 60-year-old man in the head with a camera during the New Jersey City University’s commencement ceremony at the Prudential Center in Newark on Wednesday.
According to Newark police, the incident took place around 10 a.m., when Ramy A. Zaki, 25, of Bayonne, struck a 60-year-old man in the head after he allegedly pushed Zaki’s mother as she was trying to take pictures.
Although an EMS crew responded to the scene, the victim chose to remain at the graduation and seek medical attention at a later time, police said.

Newark police officers did not provide security inside of the Prudential Center during the commencement ceremony, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
The incident only caused a short disturbance to the ceremony, reports said.
