Mona Hanna-Attisha To Speak At Newark ‘Safe Water’ Event
Mona Hanna-Attisha, a pediatrician and activist who helped expose the lead water crisis in Flint, will speak in Newark on July 17.

NEWARK, NJ — Mona Hanna-Attisha, a pediatrician and activist who helped expose the lead water crisis in Flint, Michigan, will appear at a public event in Newark on Wednesday, July 17.
According to a news release from the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), Hanna-Attisha will share her firsthand account of the Flint water crisis and her role – as an immigrant, a doctor and a scientist – in bringing it to the public’s eye.
Following Hanna-Attisha’s presentation, organizers will demonstrate water filter installations and distribute free filters for eligible Newark residents, as available.

The forum will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at St Stephan’s Church, 7 Wilson Avenue. (Learn more about this local event)
