New Seafood Restaurant Opens In Newark: Snap Back By Hook & Reel

A new seafood restaurant signed a long-term lease at the Springfield Avenue Marketplace, which is now 100% occupied.

NEWARK, NJ — A new seafood restaurant has opened in Newark at the Springfield Avenue Marketplace.

Snap Back by Hook & Reel, a “fast-casual” version of popular seafood concept Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood and Bar, recently opened its doors at the marketplace, which is located at 204-234 Springfield Avenue in Newark’s University Heights neighborhood.

It will have takeout and delivery options, and will focus on providing a “convenient, quick-service dining experience,” according to a news release.

“With its seafood boil-based menu that allows guests to customize their meal as well as offering up po’ boys and wings, Snap Back by Hook & Reel is a great fit for Springfield Avenue Marketplace, and we are thrilled to welcome them to the property,” LMC Senior Leasing Representative E.J. Moawad said.

“This concept will be a significant traffic generator and contribute to Springfield Avenue Marketplace’s overall appeal, enhancing the variety of restaurant choices for shoppers and the entire community,” Moawad said.

With the addition of its new tenant – which signed a “long-term lease” – the Springfield Avenue Marketplace is now 100 percent occupied, according to Levin Management Corporation (LMC), the property’s leasing and managing agent.

Other dining options at the property include Popeyes, Taco Bell, McDonalds, Sarku Japan and a pizzeria. Other tenants include Snipes/Kicks USA, Ashley Stewart, H&R Block, T-Mobile, Metro PCS, CityLife Medical Clinic and UBreakiFix.

According to LMC, the marketplace serves a “dense consumer base” of about 414,000 people within a three-mile radius.
