NEWARK, NJ — If you’re considering adopting a kitten in the Newark area, you’ve got plenty of choices, a local animal shelter says.

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, kitten season, otherwise known as feline breeding season, takes place during warm months (typically March through October). Many shelters see the bulk of their cats and kittens come in during this time.

And Newark is no exception, according to staff at the Associated Humane Societies (AHS).
