Newark Boy Is City’s 4th Missing Persons Case This Week

An 11-year-old boy has been reported missing in Newark. It's the fourth missing persons case in a week – and the second involving a child.

NEWARK, NJ — An 11-year-old boy was reported missing in Newark, authorities announced Tuesday. He is the fourth local missing persons case reported in the city this week – and the second involving a child.

The boy, who has attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) and has run away in the past, was found unharmed, authorities said Wednesday.

Anyone with information about missing persons cases in Newark can call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website.

Newark has seen three other missing persons cases so far this week.

On Sunday, authorities announced that a 30-year-old Newark resident diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder was reported missing on Aug. 24. He has since been found unharmed, authorities said.

On Monday, police asked for the public’s help finding a missing 6-year-old boy. He was found unharmed and sleeping inside a nearby vehicle later that day, authorities said.

In a separate missing person case reported Monday, police asked for help finding a 59-year-old Newark resident. Maurice Mccullers, 59, of Newark, was reported missing on Aug. 21. He was last seen leaving 20 Frontage Road at 1:12 p.m. Mccullers, an African-American male, is 6 feet and 200 pounds with brown eyes and a brown skin complexion. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black pants and black sneakers, authorities said.
