Newark Community Pet Clinic Announces Triumphant Return
A much-needed community pet clinic in Newark that was forced to shut its doors due to the sale of its building has some good news.

NEWARK, NJ — A much-needed community pet clinic in Essex County that was recently forced to shut its doors due to the sale of its building has some good news: it may have a new home.
The Newark Community Healthy Pet Clinic (NCHPC) quietly provided no-cost veterinary care for hundreds of pets and their owners since launching in January of 2016. But the clinic, which operated out of a converted warehouse on New York Avenue in Newark, found itself without a home base due to the sale of the property in June 2017.

“The Newark Community Healthy Pet Clinic was pleased to serve the local community from January 2016 to June 2017. Since June 2017 our doors at 19 New York Avenue have been closed and services not provided due to sale of the current building. We miss seeing all of our wonderful clients and their pets. We recently received good news from the Newark Community Economic Development Corporation with regard to future long-term space for the clinic. The Newark Community Healthy Pet Clinic has been named a designated developer of 132 and 134-136 Clinton Avenue, Newark, New Jersey. We will keep you posted regarding this exciting development. We can't wait until we open our doors so that we can provide our services to the community once again.”
The clinic provides veterinary services such as vaccinations, heartworm and Felv/FIV testing and deworming for its clients, all whom have a family income level of less than $25,000 per year, Shaw previously told Patch.
