Newark Council Holds 2023 City Budget Hearings: WATCH
Newark residents may see a property tax increase under the proposed municipal budget.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark residents may see a $109 municipal property tax increase under the city’s proposed 2023 budget, officials say.
The Newark City Council kicked off budget hearings this week, holding several public meetings as they continue to hammer out this year’s spending plan (watch the videos below).

Adoption of the municipal budget is scheduled for August. As usual, the council has approved temporary spending plans, NJ.com reported.
