Newark Car Hits Woman, St. Michael’s Hospital Worker Dies: Reports

A 65-year-old employee of St. Michael's Medical Center died after a pickup truck struck her in Newark, authorities say.

NEWARK, NJ — A 65-year-old employee of St. Michael's Medical Center in Newark died after a pickup truck struck her near Frelinghuysen Avenue and Virginia Street on Wednesday, reports say.

A Toyota Tacoma pickup truck hit Srogi B. Grazyna, of Elizabeth, around 6 p.m., Essex County authorities stated. Emergency responders transported Grazyna to University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 6:30 a.m.

Police haven’t filed charges against the driver of the truck, who stopped to help Grazyna and call for help, authorities said.

Grazyna worked in the Endoscopy Department at St. Michael's Hospital for more than a dozen years, RLS Media reported.
