A Newark hospital executive has earned an award for providing a positive leadership presence for local African American nurses.

NEWARK, NJ — A Newark hospital executive has earned a nod for providing a positive leadership presence for local African American nurses.
Darrell Terry recently received the 2018 Northern New Jersey Black Nurses Association Inc., (NNJBNA) Trailblazer Award. Terry is president and CEO of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey.

"The award is given to a person who is considered to be a role model for excellence in nursing leadership and a champion for improving nursing practice for African American nurses. He was presented with the honor by Dr. Melissa Rivers-Richardson, president of NNJBNA and NNJBNA Board of Director Norma Rodgers, at NNJBNA’s annual scholarship awards dinner and brunch."
